Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Cleveland City Council members Zack Reed, Matt Zone and Ken Johnson joined with the city's Division of Fire for the grand opening of Fire Station 36.

This is the first new fire station built in Cleveland in more than a decade and the first fire station to house both fire and EMS operations.

Today's event began with a parade from the old Fire Station 36 at 3720 East 131st Street to the new one at 3552 East 131st Street.

After the ceremony, Councilman Zach Reed dedicated a free-standing plaque in front of the station, honoring long-time former Council members George Forbes and Mary Zone.
