Hot Sauce Williams' Carnegie Avenue location to close this weekend

Only the Carnegie location will close.

CLEVELAND -- After decades of hard work and dedication to delicious dishes, the owners of Hot Sauce Williams will permanently close their Carnegie Avenue location.

The other locations will remain open.

Owner Deborah Williams confirmed the closing Wednesday afternoon, citing retirement as the reason for her closing up shop.

"All the older ones are down here," Williams said. "We've been in business over 50-some years and most of us are over 65, so it's time."

Williams said she plans to take a much-needed break to kick off her retirement. She said she isn't sure how she'll spend her time down the road, but hinted there's a chance she could make a comeback to the restaurant scene in a few years.

The last day for the Carnegie Avenue location is this Saturday. Doors open at 11 a.m. and no official closing time has been set.

"Whatever time we stop waiting on the last customer," Williams said.
