House where Alianna DeFreeze was killed will be torn down next week

The Cuyahoga County Land Bank says the home was re-boarded Friday morning.

The Cuyahoga County Land Bank says the abandoned home where Alianna DeFreeze was raped and murdered will be torn down next Friday morning.

The DeFreeze family was angry and disappointed when they found out the home located on 9412 Fuller Avenue has yet to be torn down.

The family were notified the front and back doors were possibly kicked open recently. They were concerned the easy access to the home could be a potential safety risk for children.

The county land bank says the home was re-boarded Friday morning.

In January of 2017, Alianna DeFreeze was kidnapped and killed on her way to school. 14 months later, Christopher Whittaker was sentenced to death for her kidnapping, rape and murder.

The DeFreeze family held a press conference at the “Alianna DeFreeze Let’s Make a Change Foundation” office, addressing their concerns about the house. You can watch it below from WKYC's Facebook Live.
