'Infinity Mirrors' exhibit propels Cleveland Museum of Art to record-breaking summer attendance

More than 300,000 visitors packed into the Cleveland Museum of Art to see Infinity Mirrors this summer

The Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Art was a huge success this summer.

How good?

According to the museum, a record-breaking 305,692 visitors made their way to the institution from July 1 through September 30, 2018. That number is more than double the number of visitors that came to the museum during the same period in 2017.

Visitors came from all 50 states and 23 countries in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia to see Infinity Mirrors.

Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors also contributed a total of $5.5 million in economic activity to Cuyahoga County from tourists to the region, according to an economic impact study conducted by Kleinhenz & Associates.

The excitement over Infinity Mirrors also helped the museum reach a new membership record with more than 30,000 households now supporting the institution.
