CLEVELAND — An altercation took place at the MetroHealth main campus in Cleveland in the early hours of Sunday morning, a MetroHealth spokesperson confirmed to 3News.
Security footage of the altercation obtained by 3News shows at least six people rush into the hospital, including an individual who was tackled by multiple people. The scuffle knocked over the metal detectors at the hospital's entrance, with multiple individuals fleeing once approached by security.
The individual who was being tackled appeared to continue to walk into the hospital following the altercation.
According to a MetroHealth spokesperson, the altercation took place at approximately 5 a.m. The spokesperson said the intentions of the people who entered the hospital and took place in the scuffle are not clear.
The scuffle took place just hours after the mass shooting that took place on W. 6th St. in Cleveland, which wounded nine people. The nine victims in the shooting were taken to MetroHealth with non-fatal injuries.
