CLEVELAND — For the last 46 years, St. Augustine Parish in Tremont has been serving Easter dinner to those in need.
This year, volunteers from across Northeast Ohio will help prepare about 19,000 meals for the less fortunate. Some meals were served at the Merrick House on Starkweather Avenue, others will be delivered to people who are homebound, and the rest will be served at senior centers.
Starting at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine Hunger Center, doors are open to anyone looking to sit down for a hot meal. Volunteers made ham, potatoes, bread, salad, green beans and more for their guests.
But this doesn't just go on at Easter time. The parish serves three meals a day for those in need, as well as breakfast and lunch on the weekends.
