Storms force sewage overflow at Cleveland's Edgewater Beach

Avoid the water!

CLEVELAND — Tuesday afternoon's storms forced a combined sewage overflow at Edgewater Beach, the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District announced.

The overflow occurred around 1:45 p.m., discharging a combination of raw sewage and stormwater into Lake Erie.

Beachgoers should avoid contact with the water. The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District’s Water Quality and Industrial Surveillance Department has posted signs at Edgewater Beach warning visitors of the water quality.
