WWE star Mike 'The Miz' Mizanin visits WKYC Studios before tickets go on sale for SummerSlam 2024 at Cleveland Browns Stadium: Watch our interviews

SummerSlam is set for Saturday, Aug. 3, marking the first time Cleveland has hosted the live wrestling event since August 1996.

CLEVELAND — The WWE is bringing SummerSlam 2024 to Cleveland Browns Stadium this summer -- and Parma native Mike “The Miz” Mizanin stopped by WKYC Studios early Wednesday to discuss the big event during a live interview on the GO! morning show.

The Miz even joined 3News' Matt Wintz and Dave Chudowsky for our daily dad jokes segment, which you can watch in the video below.

His appearance with us on WKYC came one day before tickets for SummerSlam go on sale to the general public. You can get tickets starting at 10 a.m. Thursday through Ticketmaster.com.

SummerSlam is set for Saturday, Aug. 3, marking the first time Cleveland has hosted the live wrestling event since August 1996. It will also stream exclusively on Peacock at 7 p.m.

But that’s not all…

WWE will also take over Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland for Friday Night SmackDown on Aug. 2.

“The city of Cleveland and WWE have a rich history that spans decades,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “We are excited to bring SummerSlam, SmackDown and a full slate of events to town in partnership with Haslam Sports Group and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.”

The Miz also spent some time on Wednesday with 3News Producer (and wrestling superfan) Amanda Naylor in a one-on-one interview. You can see their conversation below.

In addition to The Miz, some of the wrestling stars who are from Northeast Ohio include Logan Paul and Johnny Gargano.

“We’re excited to bring WWE’s SummerSlam to Cleveland Browns Stadium this August and provide the WWE Universe with all our city has to offer,” said Haslam Sports Group Chief Operating Officer David Jenkins. “Hosting this premium live event at our stadium will create tremendous economic impact for the region and further showcases Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Browns Stadium as a terrific option to host major events.”

Back in 2019, The Miz sat down with 3News for an extended interview as part of our "Let's Be Clear" series. You can watch that full conversation in the video below:
