WKYC, Cleveland.com announce new partnership: 'Together we can make a stronger impact'

A strong, local media ecosystem is more important than ever before, and we believe strategic partnerships can provide an even higher quality of unbiased journalism.

CLEVELAND — With similar missions -- to best serve the communities of Northeast Ohio -- WKYC is proud to announce a new partnership with Cleveland.com.

"Together we can make a stronger impact," says Micki Byrnes, President and General Manager of WKYC Studios.

She was joined by Chris Quinn, the Editor and Vice President of Content at Cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer to discuss details of the new partnership during 3News at 5 p.m. on Monday.

"While we will fully control our own editorial content, we will look for ways to partner on longer-range projects that address key issues," Byrnes says. "We each have different experts and resources that can add content and context."

You can watch the full announcement in the video at the top of this story.

"There will be days that we take very different views on a subject, and that will be evident," Byrnes continues. "The efforts of this partnership aren’t to reduce the number of ideas and opinions, but to add to them with greater depth and a wider range of voices. A strong, local media ecosystem is more important than ever before, and we believe strategic partnerships can provide an even higher quality of unbiased journalism."
