Fundraiser held for 9-year-old girl killed in Euclid hit-skip

All three of De'Zyer's parents were there, and they're having to deal with high funeral and medical costs.

Friends and family of 9-year-old De'Zyer Mays gathered at Euclid Prep School Saturday to remember her life and raise money for her family.

De'Zyer died a few days ago after a hit-skip earlier this month, and a spaghetti dinner to raise money for her family was held today.

All three of De'Zyer's parents were there, and they're having to deal with high funeral and medical costs. The 9-year old was struck on Babbit Road Nov. 9.

Chavez Williamson, De'Zyer's stepfather, gave an emotional thank you to the support coming in since her death.

"I want to thank everyone for all their prayers," he said as tears welled in his eyes.

Police have identified 23 year-old Lacynthia Tidmore as the driver. They found her car at a nearby gas station and she eventually turned herself in.
