Three Cuyahoga County Board of Elections employees test positive for COVID-19

CLEVELAND — Editor's Note: the video above is from a report that aired on November 3.

As Ohio continues to see record-breaking numbers of new Coronavirus cases across the state, three Cuyahoga County Board of Elections employees have tested positive for the disease.

The three new cases are in addition to the first case reported earlier this week.

According to the Board of Elections, two of the employees worked at the Church of St. Clarence in North Olmsted, while the third employee was staffed at Olmsted Falls Intermediate School.

"Our thoughts are with these officials and their families as they work toward a quick and full recovery," the Board of Election said in a press release issued Thursday.

According to CCBOE, thermometers were provided to all polling locations and precinct officials were subject to health checks as they arrived on election day. No symptoms or fever were reported by workers on election day.

The CCBOE Director Anthony Perlatti is working directly with the Cuyahoga County Board of Health for guidance on the issue.
