MIDDLEFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Authorities are investigating after a woman says a man driving a white van tried to abduct her last Saturday.
According to the Geauga County Sheriff's Office, the 22-year-old woman says she was riding her scooter near the corner of Bundysburg and Nauvoo roads around 7:30 p.m. when a white 15-passenger van passed her several times.
The van eventually stopped near the woman, who says a man exited the van and asked how she was doing. The woman says she told the man she felt uncomfortable and displayed her pepper spray in hand when he lunged at her and attempted to grab her.
The woman says she dodged the man, screamed and ran toward a house at the 14300 block of Bundysburg Road. The residents inside the home told officers they heard the woman scream and saw the van fleeing the scene.
The van's driver is described as being a heavyset man, approximately 30 years old, with a goatee and red shirt.
