Vehicle strikes house on Jackson Street in deadly Painesville Township crash.

LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — A 91-year-old man and 84-year-old woman have died following a Sunday afternoon crash in which authorities say a vehicle struck a house on Jackson Street in Painesville Township.

The Chardon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says it was around 3:30 p.m. when a 2012 Honda Accord driven by Donald Kalman went off the left side of the roadway and struck a mailbox along Mill Morr Road.

“The vehicle then continued back onto the roadway and across the intersection of Jackson Street,” the Highway Patrol explained. “After crossing over Jackson Street, the vehicle struck a tree and a house.”

Kalman, of Painesville Township, was taken University Hospitals TriPoint Medical Center where he later died.

The passenger, identified as Jean Kalman, also died at TriPoint.

“Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash,” according to a press release from the Highway Patrol. “Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash.”

Nobody inside the Jackson Street property was hurt, according to the Highway Patrol.
