MADISON, Ohio — Madison fire officials say the Burger King at 6634 North Ridge Road is more than likely a total loss after flames ripped through the location Tuesday night.

It was around 9:50 p.m. when Madison firefighters first arrived at the scene where they reported finding an active fire in the kitchen hood ductwork.

After finding the flames had already extended to the roof, firefighters began an interior attack.

"Due to rapidly evolving fire conditions, lightweight roof construction and HVAC units on the roof, interior crews were ordered out of the building," Madison fire officials explained in a press release.

The fire was ultimately extinguished from the exterior and brought under control at 11:59 p.m. Crews remained on scene until 1:25 a.m.

Three Burger King employees who were working at the time of the fire were able to safely escape the building.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
