Former Walmart employee admits to setting fire to Lake County store

He will be formally charged Monday in Willoughby Municipal Court.

EASTLAKE, Ohio -- A former Walmart employee is facing charges after allegedly setting a fire inside the store at 33752 Vine Street in Lake County.

The store manager extinguished the fire, which happened around 4 p.m. Saturday in the fabric aisle.

When officials arrived on the scene, they evacuated the building to ensure the fire was out.

Officials say Christian Carlisle of Euclid, a former employee that was recently terminated, is suspected of causing the blaze.

The suspect later turned himself in to the Eastlake Police Department.

He was questioned and admitted to starting the fire.

He will be formally charged Monday in Willoughby Municipal Court.

He faces charges of aggravated arson.
