LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — Did you feel it?

A 2.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Madison at 8:43 a.m. Thursday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake, which USGS says happened close to the Lake County / Ashtabula County border, was approximately seven kilometers deep.

A breakdown of earthquake magnitudes by Michigan Tech shows this Northeast Ohio quake would be classified as a minor event that’s “usually not felt, but can be recorded by seismograph.”

3News received a handful of messages from viewers in the area asking if there was an earthquake with one person saying "the ground shook twice."

The earthquake comes as Northeast Ohio deals with the aftermath of strong storms that brought damage, power outages and flooding to the region.
