Guns and ammunition stolen overnight from Rural King in Lorain County

ELYRIA, Ohio — The Lorain County Sheriff's Office is searching for suspects after they allegedly stole an unknown number of firearms and ammunition from Rural King.

Police say the incident happened on Wednesday, May 10, at around 3:36 a.m. when the front doors of Rural King on Oberlin Road in Elyria were forced open. 

Upon arriving at the scene, the Lorain County Sheriff's Office viewed surveillance video that five suspects getting out of two vehicles, and stealing an undisclosed amount of firearms and ammunition. 

At this time, no arrests have been made and the detectives from the Lorain County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public with helping identify the suspects.

Previously, in March, a man at the Rural King on Oberlin Road asked a clerk to see a gun. Shortly after the clerk took a gun out from the counter, a woman with a toddler is seen on surveillance video approaching the firearms section. She appears to distract the clerk, allowing the suspect to run out of the store with the gun.
