Conneaut police: Body found near boat ramp

CONNEAUT, Ohio — An investigation is underway after Conneaut police found a body in water on Saturday morning.

Police say that at around 10:19 a.m., they received a call about a possible body in water in the area of the Woodworth Road boat ramp. 

Upon arriving on the scene, police found a human body "some distance" from the boat ramp. 

The Conneaut Fire Department and the Ashtabula County Coroner's Office were both dispatched to the scene. The body, which is unidentified, was removed from the water and was taken to the Ashtabula County Coroner's Office. 

At this time, the Conneaut Police Department and the Ashtabula County Coroner's Office are investigating. 

No additional details have been released at this time. 3News will continue to update this story as we learn more.
