At 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, the railroad will resume operations.

According to a media release from a spokesperson from the CVSR, business was closed down earlier this year to improve radio communications, operations management software, and to install safety cameras in the locomotives.

"CVSR stands as a testament to excellence in scenic railroading, a leader of industry innovation and dedication. Our team's relentless pursuit of safety and service excellence defines us. I am immensely proud of our staff and volunteers, whose commitment and hard work has paved the way for our return to the rails. We are so excited to welcome passengers back on Friday and deliver unforgettable experiences on board one of the nation's premier scenic railroads!" said President and CEO of Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, Joe Mazur.

The first departure at 10 a.m. will depart from Akron on its way to Peninsula.
