Police searching for missing Youngstown woman who never showed up at daughter's home

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Youngstown Police Department has issued a statewide missing adult alert for a 77-year-old woman who has not been heard from since late Sunday evening.

Officials say Ruby Lee Hopson left her Northeast Ohio home yesterday to visit her daughter in nearby New Castle, Pennsylvania. However, Hopson never showed up, and later called her daughter from Baltimore, Maryland.

Hopson got back on Interstate 70 to head towards Pennsylvania, but as of 11 p.m. last night her whereabouts are unknown. She is believed to be driving a black Chevrolet Cruze with an Ohio license plate number of HLW6505, similar to the car pictured below.

Hopson is described as being 5-foot-2 and weighing 162 pounds with black hair and black eyes. Her family says she suffers from dementia.

Anyone with information regarding Hopson's whereabouts is asked to immediately call 911.
