Progressive reached out to employees to inform them that it will be consolidating their campus on Wilson Mills Road in Mayfield to its campus on North Commons Boulevard, also located in Mayfield.

According to a spokesperson from Progressive, its campus on North Commons Boulevard will become the company's corporate headquarters.

The consolidation comes as a result of many employees continuing to work from home instead of going into the office.

"Since re-opening our offices in January of 2022, our data shows there simply aren’t enough people using the spaces to justify keeping all of them open, particularly when we have other state-of-the-art campuses nearby," said a spokesperson with Progressive.

Additionally, the company announced that it will consolidate offices in non-Cleveland locations including Carmel, Indiana, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Riverview and St. Petersburg, Florida.

A Progressive spokesperson provided 3News with a full statement on the consolidation, which can be read below:

Over the last few years, Progressive has offered flexible work options for many of our employees with most of our people choosing to work from their homes instead of going into an office.  During this time, we’ve proven that our culture is not defined by our physical spaces, and learned our employees are successfully working remotely, and we plan to continue to provide our people the option of where they choose to work.

While we’re always looking for ways to operate as efficiently as possible while providing the best for our employees and customers, we’ve been purposeful and patient to learn how the needs of our people and our business needs intersect.  Recently, we made the difficult but important decision to consolidate some of our office locations.  Since re-opening our offices in January of 2022, our data shows there simply aren’t enough people using the spaces to justify keeping all of them open, particularly when we have other state-of-the-art campuses nearby.  Feedback from our employees coming into the office shows that they want to be near others who are also working in the office. Consolidating our spaces will allow our people to better connect with their fellow employees and generate a more energetic and collaborative atmosphere.

It’s our responsibility to ourselves, our customers, agents, and investors to look for ways to optimize our resources, find new and more efficient ways to work, and spend our money responsibly.  We’ll continue to evaluate how office utilization impacts our real estate footprint and make the best decisions for our people and our business.
