Two killed in Green Township crash, Troopers investigating

The Green Township accident occurred just after midnight on August 9.

WAYNE COUNTY, OHIO, Ohio — A car crash in Green Township left two 18-year-old's dead Sunday morning. 

Anthony Shaw, 18, was traveling south on County Road 7 just after midnight when he failed to stop at a traffic light causing his car to strike the vehicle of Skyler Sigler,18, of Apple Creek as she was attempting to make a left turn onto State Route 57. 

After striking Sigler's driver side door, Shaw's vehicle traveled into the guard rail, overturned and became engulfed in flames. The collision sent Sigler's vehicle into a guardrail before coming to a stop further down State Route 57.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash,officials report. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol's report.

The Wayne County Coroner's Office, Orrville Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office and State Troopers from the Wooster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene to assist with the accident.
