Did Buckeye Chuck see his shadow? Celebrating Groundhog Day 2024 in Ohio

Both Punxsutawney Phil and Buckeye Chuck are predicting an early start to spring after neither saw their shadow on Groundhog Day early Friday morning.

MARION, Ohio — It's Groundhog Day 2024! While Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring after not seeing his shadow early Friday morning at Gobbler's Knob in Pennsylvania, what is Ohio's own Buckeye Chuck predicting?

It was declared at 7:41 a.m. Friday that Buckeye Chuck did NOT see his shadow either, meaning he, too, is predicting an early spring.

Chants of "Chuck! Chuck! Chuck!" filled the small crowd in Marion after the prediction was declared.

So there you have it... Both Punxsutawney Phil and Buckeye Chuck are both calling for an early spring.
