Here's every license plate Ohio rejected last year

Many suggested dirty words, anti-Trump and anti-law-enforcement rhetoric, and much more.

Have you ever seen a personalized license plate so outrageous, you wonder why the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles allowed it in the first place?

Turns out, there are many worse ideas for vanity plates. Hundreds, actually.

Between May 1, 2017, and April 27, 2018, the state rejected 403 license plates, many of which suggested dirty words, anti-Trump and anti-law-enforcement rhetoric, and much more.

So, what gets your license plate denied in the first place? The state spells out its rejection criteria in three clear guidelines:

• Contain words, combinations, and/or phrases (in any language and when read either frontward or backward) that are so profane (that is, swearwords or expletives) obscene, sexually explicit or scatological.

• Contains words, combinations, and/or phrases that are so offensive that they could reasonably be expected to provoke a violent response from viewers without additional comment.

• Contains words, combinations and/or phrases that advocate immediate lawlessness or advocate lawless activities.

Pretty cut and dry, right? Not to some people.

Some plates were relatively clean:

• HACKER

• MUAHA

• ITCHY

There were more than a few "AF" rejections:

• CLE AF

• DOPE AF

• GOTH AF

• VEGAN AF

And then there were the people who wanted to let others know how they felt:

• IH8 PPLE

• IH8UAL

• IH8KIDS

• PPL H8TR

• H8EVRY1

And it gets worse from there.

Here's the whole list. It contains more than a few graphic words, so you've been warned:
