RTA sees eight more employees test positive for COVID-19

As the Coronavirus pandemic rages on, eight more RTA employees test positive.

CLEVELAND — This week, The Greater Cleveland RTA is reporting eight employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a release sent by the RTA the employees work at several different locations:

  • From the Hayden District, two operators
  • From the Central Bus Facility, one equipment engineer
  • From the Main Office Building, two administrators
  • From the Rail District, one track maintainer
  • From the Triskett District, one hostler
  • From the Tower City Customer Service Center, one customer service representative

The RTA states they have disinfected and cleaned areas of potential exposure. Staff members who were in contact with those employees were notified.

Currently, 134 RTA employees have tested positive for COVID-19. 114 of those have recovered and are now back at work.
