Officials say the crash happened at around 7:45 a.m. on Center Road in New Franklin when a 36-year-old driver lost control of his 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. The vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

The driver, William Boggs of Barberton was pronounced dead on the scene by the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.

Officials say that Boggs was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and that alcohol appears to be a factor.
