Armed robbery ends in shots fired, flipped car in Macedonia; five people arrested

Officials responded to a call for an armed robbery possibly involving gunshots Sunday evening.

The robbery occurred on East Aurora Road around 3 p.m.

Following the robbery, the victim a 22-year-old man followed the suspects and began ramming his car into their vehicle.

The suspect then began firing shots at the victim's car. As the pursuit continued, the suspect then lost control of the car, flipping it near the Get Go Gas station located at 2288 East Aurora Road.

Twinsburg Police responded to the scene of the accident and took five people into custody:

  • 21-year-old black man, Cleveland
  • 22-year-old black man, Cleveland
  • 23-year-old black man, Cleveland
  • 18-year-old white female, Ravenna
  • 17-year-old juvenile, Twinsburg

At the scene, officials recovered two hand guns, nearly $1,400 in cash and a pair of Air Max sneakers that belonged to the victim.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, treated for his injuries and released.

The suspects face charges of aggravated robbery and complicity to aggravated robbery.

They will be arraigned in Stow County Court Monday, Sept. 24.
