Woman charged in connection with 2012 murder of pizza delivery driver in Summit County

Erica Stefanko faces charges of aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping, and more for the death of Ashley Biggs in 2012.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Police and U.S. Marshals arrested a woman in connection with the 2012 death of a pizza delivery driver on Monday in Summit County.

Erica Stefanko, formerly known as Erica Lyon, faces charges of aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and other felonies related to the death of Ashley Biggs in June of 2012.

The body of Ashley Biggs was found in her car in a Chippewa Township cornfield on June 21, 2012. Police say she was working at a Domino's Pizza in Green and went missing after being sent to deliver a pizza to an address in New Franklin. Apparently a female had called in for a pizza to be delivered to a closed business.

The father of Biggs' child, Chad Cobb, was arrested for the homicide on the same day as her body was found. The two were apparently having an ongoing custody battle before Biggs' death.

Cobb was ultimately sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Information obtained by investigators led to a Summit County Grand Jury indicting Stefanko for Biggs' homicide. Stefanko was captured on Monday morning after her four children left for school during a traffic stop at the intersection of Eastern Road and S.R. 585 in Chippewa Township.
