LORAIN, Ohio — Lorain city councilman Angel Arroyo was cited for driving a vehicle while impaired Monday night.
According to Lorain County Jail records, Arroyo was also cited for driving with expired or unlawful plates, failing to leave assured clear distance and violation of implied consent. He was booked into the Lorain County Jail at 1:08 a.m. and released an hour later.
Arroyo was arrested in January on charges of domestic violence and resisting arrest after his wife called police to report he had assaulted her. Arroyo pleaded not guilty to those charges.
In December 2017, Arroyo was hit with charges of resisting arrest, disorderly conduct persisting, disorderly conduct by intoxication, obstructing official business and disturbing the peace following an incident that happened at a friend's house.
Last month, Arroyo announced he will not seek reelection for another term, citing plans to focus on his family.
