BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards performance raised some eyebrows and didn't earn her a lot of praise.

She started out singing her We Can't Stop song, twerking and sticking out her tongue to match her bear unitard. At one point, MTV bleeped out the word "molly."
In the song, Miley sings, "So la da di da di/We like to party/Dancing with Molly." When it first came out, the song was under fire for its drug references, including "Molly," which is MDMA or Ecstasy.
But that wasn't a big deal. It was what came next.
In the press room, there was a gasp as she went on to strip down to nude undies and bra and did a Jersey Turnpike grind with Robin Thicke on a rendition of his hit Blurred Lines.
On Twitter, reaction wasn't exactly positive. Some expressed embarrassment for Miley. Others mocked her hair.
Country star Josh Gracin tweeted: "Thanks Miley Cyrus. Now I have to explain to my 11 yr old daughter why she no longer can follow your career."
And Dancing With the Stars/Bachelor alum Melissa Rycroft tweeted: "I think I'm too old to appreciate the (ahem) new Miley Cyrus....feeling slightly violated...#VMA"
