CLEVELAND — With the US House of Representatives scheduled to vote on articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump on Wednesday, hundreds of rallies in support of impeachment are being planned around the country.

"The Nobody Is Above the Law network has activated," read the website Impeach.org, where events including two in Cleveland and at least four more in other parts of Ohio are listed for those who support the impeachment of Trump.

"Events are called for Tuesday, December 17th at 5:30 p.m. local time, but check your local event for a confirmed time and location," the site read, as #impeachmenteve trended on Twitter on Tuesday morning.

On December 13, the House Judiciary Committee voted to recommend Trump be formally charged with two articles of impeachment: abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

"Today is a solemn and sad day," Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) said after the vote. "For the third time in a little over a century and a half, the House Judiciary Committee has voted articles of impeachment against the president for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The House will act expeditiously."

The charges are related to a phone call that took place on July 25 where Trump is accused of pressuring the president of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden by withholding military aide needed to fend off Russian aggression, and the Trump administration's refusal to comply with subpoenas issued during the House's impeachment inquiry.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing throughout this process, calling over Twitter on December 5 for a speedy impeachment so he "can have a fair trial in the Senate."
