ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — Sweet Melissa restaurant in Rocky River has announced that it will be closing its doors at the end of May.
The announcement comes just weeks after the restaurant celebrated its 11th anniversary. "In those 11 years, you have given us the incredible opportunity to serve you. We have met so many wonderful people and have crafted lifelong relationships. You’ve welcomed us into your homes and have invited us to celebrate countless special days with you. That is why we want you to hear this directly from us and why it makes this difficult to share," the restaurant posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday.
"After careful consideration and with heavy hearts, we have decided not to renew our lease. Sweet Melissa will be closing it’s doors on May 26th, 2019."
Sweet Melissa closed its University Heights location in January of 2018, but will maintain Cafe Melissa in Avon Lake.
Between now and May 26, the restaurant invites everyone "to come by, have an amazing meal and share your memories with us as we prepare to say goodbye."
