Thankful nurse receives donations to help replace her stolen medical equipment

Jamee Byrd-Beasley was heartbroken last week to find a thief had broken into her car and stolen supplies needed for her nursing job

CLEVELAND — Friends and strangers are rallying to help a local nurse who was heartbroken last week to find that a thief had stolen her medical supplies.

A GoFundMe account established for Cleveland nurse Jamee Byrd-Beasley, featured in a recent 3News story, has raised $710 so far.

The account was established after several viewers asked how to help Byrd-Beasley, who woke up last Monday morning to realize her car had been broken into.

“Then I check my trunk and saw that my bag with all my nursing supplies and a gym bag was stolen,” Byrd-Beasley told 3News reporter Romney Smith.

Thankfully she has a surveillance camera that caught everything. The video is grainy, but it shows a person rummaging through her car.

“It still hurts me that someone would do that to me,” says Byrd-Beasley.

Total amount sought by the GoFundMe effort is $2,000. That's the amount Byrd-Beasley estimates is needed to replace the stolen supplies she needs to do her job, including stethoscope, thermometer, blood pressure cuff and glucometers.
