Ohio State snaps road losing streak with 60-57 win over Michigan State

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Ohio State snapped its 17-game road losing streak on Sunday after Dale Bonner sunk a buzzer-beating three to lead the Buckeyes to a 60-57 win over Michigan State.

Ohio State was trailing by 10 at halftime, but they kept the margin close and chipped away in the second half.

With just over a minute left, Ohio State trailed 56-53 before Devin Royal made a layup to narrow the score 56-55.

Roddy Gayle Jr. drew a foul with 11 seconds left and sunk both free throws giving the Buckeyes their first lead of the game.

Michigan State's Tyson Walker made just one of his two free throws, tying the score at 57-57.

With just six seconds left in the game, Bruce Thornton got the ball and passed it to Bonner who put it up for the game-winning shot, securing the 60-57 win for Ohio State.

Bonner nailed the winner after missing three of his first four attempts from beyond the arc.

Royal scored 10 after halftime on 5-for-5 shooting to provide the spark for Ohio State. The Buckeyes shot 51.7% in the second half (15 for 29) after missing 22 of 29 attempts in the first half and shooting 24.1%.

Before this game, Ohio State had not won on the road since Jan. 1, 2023.
