COLUMBUS, Ohio — After ending the regular season as Big Ten title champions, the Ohio State women's basketball team has earned a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Buckeyes will square off against No. 15 seed Maine in Columbus.

Ohio State is going into the NCAA tournament with a 25-5 overall record, most recently coming off a loss to Maryland in the first round of the conference tournament.

The first round of games will take place on March 22 and 23.

After leading a successful regular season for Ohio State, head coach Kevin McGuff was selected Tuesday as the Big Ten Coach of the Year.

The team was dominant for the majority of the season, ranking in the top 25 nationally every week and spending three weeks at No. 2 in the AP Poll for the highest-ranking program in history.

After losing to Michigan on Dec. 30, the Buckeyes went on a 15-game winning streak, including a win in overtime at home against then-ranked No. 2 Iowa. The winning streak came to an end at the hands of Iowa in the last regular season game.
