COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Welcome to Ohio State lore, Chris Olave.

After catching two touchdowns in the first half of the No. 10 Buckeyes' matchup with fourth-ranked Michigan, the freshman receiver helped his team add to its lead in the second half. After a Shea Patterson misfire led to a fourth down, the Wolverines lined up to punt, only to have their kick attempt blocked by Olave.

The ball bounced directly into the arms of freshman cornerback Sevyn Banks, who returned it 33 yards for a touchdown, giving Ohio State a 34-19 lead.

It didn't take long for the Buckeyes to add to their lead.

On the ensuing possession, Ohio State safety Jordan Fuller intercepted Patterson, giving the Buckeyes the ball back at the Michigan 22-yard line. A mere two plays later, Ohio State was back in the end zone, with running back -- and Detroit native -- Mike Weber scoring on a 2-yard run off a speed option.

A spot in the Big Ten Championship Game against Northwestern -- and potentially, the College Football Playoff -- is on the line between the Buckeyes and Wolverines. Although Ohio State entered Saturday ranked 10th, its dominant performance against the nation's top-ranked defense could sway the mind of the College Football Playoff selection committee heading into a potential matchup with No. 19 Northwestern in Indianapolis next week.

Entering the fourth quarter, Ohio State lays claim to a 41-19 lead.
