Who will be playing for Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl?

The Buckeyes will travel to AT&T Stadium where they will play the Tigers on Dec. 29.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — It may not be the bowl game Buckeye fans wanted, but Ohio State will get a chance to end the season on a high note in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri.

The Buckeyes will travel to AT&T Stadium in Texas where they will play the Tigers. Ohio State's hopes of making the College Football Playoffs were basically over once they lost to Michigan for the third straight year.

Because of that, some Buckeye players may opt out of the game and focus on the NFL Draft. Others may play in the game to boost their draft stock.

Here's who we know is playing and who is still undecided.

Who is playing

  • CB Denzel Burke
  • WR Emeka Egbuka
  • CB Jordan Hancock
  • OL Donovan Jackson
  • DE Jack Sawyer
  • DT Tyleik Williams

Head coach Ryan Day has not officially named a starter for the bowl game, but QB Devin Brown said he's pumped for the opportunity to play.

"I can't believe my first start is going to be in the Cotton Bowl. It's going to be a big stage against a really good team," Brown said. "It's a top-10 matchup and I'm just excited to go out there and show what I can do."

Kyle McCord, who recently entered the transfer portal, beat out Brown for the starting role just before the season started.

Egbuka and Burke both said they're excited to play in the game and end the year on a high note. Neither one said they have made a decision on if they will enter the draft or come back to Columbus.

Sawyer took his comments a step further when asked about people who believe the Cotton Bowl is meaningless.

"Pardon my French, but I think that's kind of bull****," Sawyer said. "This game means a lot to us and to our fans. It's an opportunity to play and put our best foot forward and show the world who we really are after a tough loss to a good team."

Undecided/hasn't publicly commented

  • LB Tommy Eichenberg
  • WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
  • RB TreVeyon Henderson
  • S Lathan Ransom
  • DT J.T. Tuimoloau

Last week, Harrison said he was undecided on if he will play in the Cotton Bowl. He also said he was unsure if he'd enter the draft or come back for his senior year. If he does go to the NFL, he will surely be a top-5 pick.
