Junior Volleyball Association's Rock 'N Rumble tournament returns to Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland

The two-weekend tournament is taking place Jan. 6-7 and Jan. 13-14 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is set to host its first of many major sporting events in 2024. 

The Junior Volleyball Association's (JVA) Rock 'N Rumble is set to return to the Huntington Convention Center in downtown Cleveland for back-to-back weekends on Jan. 6-7 and Jan. 13-14. 

Below is a list of times when the tournament is taking place: 

  • Saturday, Jan. 6
    • 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 7
    • 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 13
    • 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 14
    • 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The weekend tournaments are expected to bring in over 620 girls' volleyball teams from numerous regions in the United States to Cleveland. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission expects nearly 10,000 spectators to attend the tournaments in addition to the thousands of athletes and coaches. 

The event is expected to provide an estimated $6.3 million in economic impact for Northeast Ohio. More information on the tournament can be found HERE

2024 marks a big year for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the events the city will host. Below is a list of the major sporting events coming to Northeast Ohio: 

JVA Rock 'N Rumble: Jan. 6-7 and Jan. 13-14

After a successful year hosting two weekends in 2023, the Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) is back with the 2024 Rock 'N Rumble Tournament taking place over two separate weekends at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.

Greater Cleveland Sports Awards: Jan. 23 

Returning to RMFH for a third year, Cleveland’s sports and business scene will gather for a night of networking, libations, meet & greets with local and national sports celebrities and a live awards show led by Holly Rowe, ESPN Reporter and Commentator.

2024 AAU Cleveland Open Girls and Boys Grand Prix: Feb. 3-4

Cleveland will be hosting the 2024 AAU Cleveland Open Girls and Boys Grand Prix at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland from February 3-4. This brand new event will bring around 1500-1750 athletes ages 10-18, to Northeast Ohio for two days of intense competition as teams fight for their age division championship.

2024 NCAA Women's Final Four: April 5 and 7

The 2024 Women’s Final Four games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will tip-off Friday, April 5 with two national semifinal contests, while the national championship game will be played Sunday, April 7, 2024. Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the Mid-American Conference will serve as co-hosts.

Dru Joyce Classic: April 12-14 

Dru Joyce Classic, a premier U.S. youth travel basketball tournament, will be held at the I-X Center on April 12-14, 2024. This event will bring nearly 300 youth basketball teams and coaches from across the country to participate in a three-day basketball competition, providing an estimated $2,000,000 in economic impact to Northeast Ohio.

Pan-American Masters Games: July 12-24

Hosted by Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC), this multi-sport event for masters athletes is expected to be the largest international gathering in Northeast Ohio’s history. Held every four years in the Americas, the Games are estimated to attract approximately 10,000 masters athletes from all 50 states and more than 50 countries along with thousands of spectators, family and friends. This event will provide over $25 million in economic impact to the local economy.
