CLEVELAND -- On Wednesday, the Cleveland Indians asked their fans to 'Vote 'Los.'
It appears they have listened.
As of Thursday at 10 a.m., Carlos Sanatana currently leads the 'Election Day' ballot for American League first basemen. Fans have until 4 p.m. ET to cast their votes, which they can do via MLB.com and Google.
Starters for the 2019 MLB All-Star Game, which will be played in Cleveland on July 9, will be announced on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. The rest of the American League and National League rosters, which are determined via a collaborative effort between the players' vote and the Commissioner's Office, will be announced on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
In what marks the first year of the All-Star Game's new voting format, Santana is the Indians' lone representative on the Election Day ballot. The three finalists for each position were determined via a league-wide fan vote, with Luke Volt of the New York Yankees and C.J. Cron of the Minnesota Twins joining Santana as finalists for the American League first base starting spot.

Should Santana be elected as a starter, it would mark the third straight season the Indians have had a starter in the All-Star Game, with Jose Ramirez having started at third base in each of the past two years. He'd be the first Cleveland player to start at first base for the American League since Jim Thome did so in 1999.
Through the Indians' first 80 games, Santana leads the team in home runs (18), RBIs (48), doubles (15), hits (82), walks (57), on-base percentage (.411), slugging (.541) and total bases (153).
