Cleveland Indians fans, others sound off on all-black MLB Players Weekend uniforms

Some like the look, but others are not having it.

CLEVELAND — Two years ago, Major League Baseball began a tradition known as "Players Weekend." Members of all 30 teams get to wear specially-designed uniforms with chosen nicknames (rather than last names) on the back, along with colorful cleats, bats, and other equipment.

The promotion has generally been well-received, with fans loving the creative names and even the color combinations. However, the reaction to this year's uniforms has been...mixed.

After wearing red and white the last two years, the Indians came out for the 2019 Players Weekend series against the Kansas City Royals wearing all-black, with KC sporting white. It's certainly a different direction: Some are loving it. Others, though, are not amused.
