Last week, Asher Wojciechowski was one of four members of the Cleveland Indians organization to be named to the Triple-A All-Star Game.

But as it turns out, the right-handed pitcher will be representing a different team in El Paso next week.

On Tuesday, the Indians announced that they have traded Wojciechowski to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for cash considerations. The 30-year-old Wojciechowski is expected to report to Triple-A Norfolk, although he may not have to wait long for his return to the big leagues after reliever Josh Rogers was placed on the 60-day Injured List with an elbow injury.

Signed by the Indians as a free agent in February, Wojciechowski was in the midst of a standout season with Triple-A Columbus at the time of Monday's trade. In 15 starts, he amassed the second-best ERA in the International League (3.61) to go along with and 8-2 record and 82 strikeouts.

Despite his strong season, Wojciechowski has faced an uphill battle in making a return to the big leagues, where he previously spent time with the Houston Astros (2015) and Cincinnati Reds (2017). Even as injuries have ravaged the Indians' pitching staff, Cleveland has relied upon some of the younger arms in its organization to fill the voids in its starting rotation, with Jefry Rodriguez, Zach Plesac and Aaron Civale each starting games at the Major League level this season.

Selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft, the Winthrop product went on to also spend time in the Astros, Marlins, Diamondbacks, Reds, Orioles and White Sox organizations before signing with Cleveland earlier this year.
