CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced their preseason schedule, and play will begin against the very team that took them to seven games in the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics, on Tuesday, October 2 at TD Garden in Boston.

In addition to the preseason opener against the Celtics, the Cavaliers will play two games at Quicken Loans Arena, first against Boston on Saturday, October 6, and then, Monday, October 8 against one of their Central Division foes, the Indiana Pacers.

The Cavaliers will close the four-game preseason slate with a game against the Detroit Pistons on Friday, October 12 in their first-ever appearance at Michigan State University’s Jack Breslin Student Events Center in East Lansing, Michigan.

The entrance to Breslin Center features “Gilbert Pavilion,” where the successes and history of the men’s and women’s basketball programs are honored. Opened on October 20, 2017, Gilbert Pavilion was funded through private donations, including from Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and his wife, Jennifer.

Gilbert is a Michigan State University alumnus.

All Cavaliers preseason games will be carried on FOX Sports Ohio and the flagship radio stations, WTAM AM/1100 and La Mega FM/87.7, as well as across the Cleveland Cavaliers Radio Network.
