After reportedly coming to terms with point guard Ricky Rubio on a three-year deal, it didn't take long for the Cleveland Cavaliers to make another move. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs have signed free agent center Robin Lopez to a one-year deal.

Now entering his 15th season in the NBA, the 34-year-old Lopez spent last season with the Orlando Magic. Appearing in 36 games (nine starts), the 7-foot center averaged 7.1 points on 55.3 percent shooting and 3.5 rebounds in 17 minutes per game.

Selected with the No. 15 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Lopez has spent time playing for the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards and Magic over the course of his NBA career. For a period of time, the Stanford product was considered one of the top defensive big men in the NBA, although he has primarily played in a reserve role over the past few years.

In Cleveland, that trend will almost assuredly continue, as the Cavs already possess a starting frontcourt that features Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Kevin Love, Lauri Markkanen and Dean Wade also each remain under contract in Cleveland for the 2022-23 NBA season.
