LeBron James sinks buzzer-beater 3 as Cleveland Cavaliers beat Indiana Pacers 98-95 in Game 5

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers are one win away from the second round.

LeBron James sank a game-winning 3-pointer as the clock expired to give the Cavs a 98-95 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Cavs took a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Cleveland will have a chance to close out the series on Friday when they return to Indianapolis for Game 6.

James scored 44 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Kyle Korver added 19 points for the Cavs with 5 makes from 3-point range.

Fourth quarter

3.0: Cavs 95, Pacers 95: Big LeBron block on Oladipoto secure the ball

26.3: Cavs 95, Pacers 95: Pacers ball after a LeBron turnover. Indiana should get the last shot.

33.6: Cavs 95, Pacers 95: All tied up as a Domantas Sabonis 15-footer continues a 6-0 run. Cavs ball.

4:38: Cavs 95, Pacers 89: Pacers still within striking distance, but LeBron tacks onto the Cavs lead with a pair of free throws. 41 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for The King.

7:57: Cavs 88, Pacers 82: Pacers chipping away with LeBron now grabbing a rest on the bench. Domantas Sabonis with 18 points off the bench for Indiana. Victor Oladipo 2-for-14 from the field.

Third quarter

End of quarter: Cavs 81: Pacers 73: Lance Stephenson hits a buzzer-beater to inch the Pacers closer, but the Cavs will be firmly in the drivers seat entering the fourth after 15 third-quarter points from LeBron.

4:09: Cavs 73, Pacers 65: Jose Calderon joins the party with a pair of 3-pointers. Cavs up 8, but already in the bonus, which could prove problematic down the stretch of the quarter.

6:26: Cavs 66, Pacers 59: 17-3 run to open the third for the Cavs, led by LeBron, who already has 11 third-quarter points.

8:51: Cavs 56, Pacers 56: Cavs open third on a 7-0 run spearheaded by 4 points from LeBron to tie things up at 56.

Second quarter

End of half: Pacers 56, Cavs 49: LeBron has 20 points, but it's clearly not enough at this point. James is going to need some second-half help, or the Cavs could find themselves facing elimination come Friday.

2:37: Pacers 52, Cavs 47: Pacers were up 9, but LeBron engineers a 4-0 run by himself with a lay-up and a dunk.

7:04: Pacers 39, Cavs 36: LeBron rested for more than four minutes and the Cavs managed to outscore Indiana by 3 points. Pacers, however, now in the midst of a 6-0 run.

First quarter

End of quarter: Pacers 25, Cavs 23: LeBron looks like a man on a mission as he ends the quarter on an 8-0 run all by himself with four straight layups through the Pacers defense.

4:36: Pacers 15, Cavs 13: Cavs showing some energy as a J.R. Smith steal off an inbounds pass following a Kevin Love basket leads to a LeBron James layup.

6:44: Pacers 13, Cavs 7: Sluggish offensive start for the Cavs, who are 2-of-10 from the field. Pacers take an early lead behind 5 points from Bogdanovic.
