Throughout LeBron James' career, the Boston Celtics have consistently served as one of LeBron James' biggest rivals. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar, however, has never been shy to wear green -- particularly when paying homage to his alma mater.

On Tuesday night, James opted to do just that -- perhaps uncoincidentally against the Celtics. As the Cavs took the floor at the TD Garden in Boston for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, the 4-time MVP unveiled the latest pair of Nike LeBron 15 signature sneaker, a green and gold take on his first shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Generation.

James, of course, is no stranger to wearing green and gold. A 2003 alum of Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary, James wore the color scheme throughout his four seasons playing for the Fighting Irish in high school.

While the 3-time Ohio Mr. Basketball has taken his shoe game to a new level this season, Tuesday marked the first time he's worn this particular iteration. And it may not be a coincidence he's chosen to do so against the Celtics, as he's been known to bust out his green and gold gear throughout his previous postseason series' with Boston.

After the Celtics beat Cleveland in Game 1 on Sunday, the Cavs are looking to even the series before returning home for Game 3 on Saturday. For all the latest on the Game 2 matchup between the Cavs and Celtics, follow our live blog and join the conversation Twitter using the hashtag #3Cavs.
