REACTION: Cleveland Cavaliers subject of criticism, speculation after Game 2 loss in East Finals

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been the subject of much criticism and speculation since their 107-94 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at TD Garden in Boston Tuesday night.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland Cavaliers have their work cut out for them if they hope to make a fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals.

Down by seven points at halftime, the Boston Celtics ratcheted up the pressure and held a 59-39 scoring edge in the second half on the way to a 107-94 win over the Cavaliers in Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Eastern Conference Finals at TD Garden in Boston Tuesday night.

And more than 13 hours after the setback in Game 2, reaction is still pouring in on social media.

Despite getting a triple double of 42 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds from small forward LeBron James, the Cavaliers trail the Celtics, 2-0, in the best-of-seven series.

Since the loss, fans have called into question the Cavaliers’ decision to trade multi-time NBA All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving to the Celtics during the offseason.

Others used the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals as a further indictment on the state of the Toronto Raptors, who despite clinching the No. 1 overall seed in the East and having home-court advantage over Cleveland, were swept out of the second round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs by the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers will look to get back on the winning track in front of the home fans, while the Celtics will try to carry their home-court magic on the road on Saturday night at Quicken Loans Arena.

Despite having yet to lose at home in the 2018 NBA Playoffs, the Celtics are just 1-4 on the road this postseason.
