CLEVELAND -- Sure, LeBron James has decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he will always be Northeast Ohio’s hometown hero.
That’s the message WKYC’s Russ Mitchell wants to make sure nobody forgets anytime soon -- including rap star Snoop Dogg.
Earlier this week, Snoop tweeted a picture depicting James holding a Lakers jersey with the caption: “Welcome home @KingJames.”
That’s when Russ perfectly replied: “He’s from Akron, Cuz.”
His response quickly took fire and has been retweeted more than 1,200 times with nearly 10,000 likes as of 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
