Cleveland Browns' opponents for 2023 season finalized: See who they'll play

The Cleveland Browns now know who they'll play and where during the 2023 season.

CLEVELAND — Following the conclusion of the 2022 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns now know who they'll be playing -- and where -- in 2023.

Based on the league's rotation of cross-divisional matchups each season, the Browns will be facing opponents in the AFC South and NFC West, in addition to their annual home-and-home series with the rest of the AFC North next season. As the fourth-place finisher in its division in 2022, Cleveland will also face the fourth-place finishers in the AFC East and AFC West, as well as the NFC North.

While the full 2023 NFL schedule won't be released until this spring, the Browns now know they'll be facing the following opponents in the year ahead:

Home

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Chicago Bears
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • New York Jets
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Tennessee Titans

Away

  • Baltimore Ravens
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Denver Broncos
  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks

Of note, Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will be facing his former division, the AFC South, in what will mark his first full season as Cleveland's starting quarterback. The three-time Pro Bowl selection will also face his former team, the Houston Texans, on the road for the second consecutive season after making his Browns debut in Cleveland's 27-14 victory at NRG Stadium this past December.

Additionally, Cleveland will once again host the New York Jets, who beat the Browns 31-30 in dramatic fashion at FirstEnergy Stadium in Week 2 of the 2022 campaign. Altogether, the Browns will be facing seven opponents -- including the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens twice -- who qualified for the playoffs following the 2022 season.
