Since retiring in 1996, Kosar has had a long struggle with injuries stemming from his playing days, specifically head and brain injuries. Throughout his career, Kosar says he suffered 80 broken bones, 40 surgeries, numerous seizures and countless concussions.

After a traumatic seizure in 2017, Kosar says he stopped taking some of his medications and turned towards a holistic diet and functional medicine. It's an approach that Kosar says reversed many of his symptoms and saved his life.

Now he is sharing the supplements that he takes on a daily basis online with KosarWellness.com.

Kosar told 3News' Austin Love, "That's my mission. To really articulate a message and a community out there... to say, the stuff that I took this morning, 'why don't you take that?' because that's what's helping me feel better, look better, and be cognitively present. We want to give them the simple tools to feel like this."
