CLEVELAND — Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb will be back with the Browns for the 2024 season.

As the 28-year-old Cleveland Browns RB continues to recover, the team has reportedly agreed to a new deal with him.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Browns and Chubb have agreed to a reworked contract to lower his base salary of $11.775 million.

However, sources reportedly told Rapoport that there is a chance for Chubb to earn the money back in incentives.

Chubb was sidelined for the 2023 season after suffering a knee injury in the team's Week 2 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Chubb has since undergone two surgeries to repair his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and his medial capsule, meniscus and medial collateral ligament (MCL).

During six seasons with the Browns, Chubb has recorded 6,511 rushing yards and 48 rushing touchdowns.

Despite the talks of Chubb being a salary cap casualty, Browns GM Andrew Berry assured fans earlier this season that they hoped to bring him back.

"No one in the organization, nobody wants to see that carry in Pittsburgh be the last time that he carries the ball for the Cleveland Browns," Berry said. "Obviously there are things that we'll have to work through, but [moving on from Chubb] would not be our intention."

Chubb, who is set to become a free agent in 2025, is expected to be back on the field at some point in the 2024 season.
